Event cancellation information

HBF takes the safety and health of the West Australian community very seriously and made the difficult decision in March to cancel HBF Run for a Reason 2020 due to the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In lieu of the event being held in May, HBF have donated all unspent funds from the event and HBF Fitness Autumn season, to the event’s affiliated charities. A total of $400,000 has been divided across nearly 170 health-related organisations registered as beneficiaries for this year’s HBF Run. We hope that the donations will alleviate some of the pressure felt by the charities due to the impact of COVID-19.

In addition to HBF’s donation to the charities, nearly $75,000 raised by the community through the HBF Run fundraising website, was passed on to the nominated charities in March. Charity fundraising pages will also remain open until Friday 26 June so that you can continue to support the charities who rely heavily upon the generous donations of participants each year.
